I want to match all key/value pairs. Like :

"conventional_long_name" => "Italian Republic"

The regex I'm using is :

preg_match_all("/\|(?:\s+)?([^=]+)(?:\s+)?=(?:\s+)?(.+)/", $line, $matches);

Which works fine, except that it fails to parse this line :

|latd=41 |latm=54 |latNS=N |longd=12 |longm=29 |longEW=E

It matches latd and 41 |latm=54 |latNS=N |longd=12 |longm=29 |longEW=E

What am I doing wrong? Any ideas?

Was it helpful?

Solution

You could maybe use something like this?

\|\s*([^=]+?)\s*=\s*((?:<[^<>]*>|\[\[(?:(?!\]\]).)*\]\]|{{(?:(?!}}).)*}}|[^|{}\[\]<>]+)+)

regex101 demo

It basically grabs everything (even |) if they are within [[ ... ]] or < ... > or {{ ... }}, but doesn't match a lone | if it's not within one of those brackets.
