Sorting by position not working with Elastic Search 6+ on magento 2.3.3

Question

When I use mysql as a default search engine in magento 2.3.3 everything works fine as it should but as I change the default search engine to Elastic Search 6+ the sort by position attribute does not position the products as it should instead it orders them randomly ,please tell me what should I do
