Question

I am not sure whether this question fits in here but I'll go ahead and ask as I am really eager to know the answer.

I want to decide whether to use the MSF Agile 5.0 template or the Scrum 1.0 template on my TFS. We have decided to go Agile (not the template but the philosophy) in principle but unable to decide which template will provide better ALM experience.

Can anyone throw light on this? Mine is a very technology intensive product and highly complex, both from architecture and scope standpoint.

I will appreciate if the forum can share parameters that I can use to arrive at a decision.

Please let me know where to park this question if it does not belong here.

OTHER TIPS

You're in luck.. sort of :)

Once I had the need for the same answers. I've came across Choose a Process Template on MSDN which came close but omitted to Scrum template. Failing to find a relevant resource, I eventually wrote it on my own.

One difference is the terminology in the WorkItemTypes and fieldnames.

Follow this link to get an overview of the main differences Scrum for Team System v3.0, MSF Agile v5.0 and Team Foundation Server Scrum v1.0 (beta) (it seems to be a little bit old)

Here you get the differences in the terminology

If you are not doing Scrum i think you should take the agile template because it is more generalized.
