Color de fondo de un elemento de ListBox (winforms)

¿Cómo puedo establecer el color de fondo de un elemento específico de un Sistema.Windows.Los formularios.ListBox?Me gustaría ser capaz de establecer múltiples, si es posible.

Probablemente la única manera de lograr eso es dibujar los elementos a ti mismo.

Establecer el DrawMode a OwnerDrawFixed

y el código de algo como esto en el evento DrawItem:

private void listBox_DrawItem(object sender, DrawItemEventArgs e)

    e.DrawBackground();
    Graphics g = e.Graphics;

    g.FillRectangle(new SolidBrush(Color.Silver), e.Bounds);

    // Print text

    e.DrawFocusRectangle();

La segunda opción sería el uso de un ListView, aunque tienen otra forma de implementaciones (en realidad no enlazado a datos, pero más flexible, en forma de columnas)

La anterior añade el código dado, y se mostrará la debida texto además de resaltar el elemento seleccionado.

Si lo que quieres decir mediante el establecimiento de múltiples colores de fondo es establecer un color de fondo diferente para cada elemento, esto no es posible con un ListBox, pero con un ListView, con algo como:
