Analisi di un file in formato Quickbook IIF

Sto lavorando con il formato di file IIF di Quickbook e ho bisogno di scrivere un parser per leggere e scrivere i file IIF e sto riscontrando problemi nella lettura dei file.
I file sono semplici, sono delimitati da tabulazioni. Ogni riga è una definizione di tabella o una riga. Le definizioni iniziano con "!" e il nome della tabella e le righe iniziano solo con il nome della tabella. Ecco il problema che sto riscontrando: alcuni dei campi consentono interruzioni di riga.
Quando l'ho incontrato per la prima volta, ho pensato, ok basta analizzarlo tab per tab invece che riga per riga, ma per fare ciò ho dovuto sostituire le interruzioni di riga con tab e finire con più valori di quanti ne fossero le colonne, ma ho finito con i valori con le interruzioni di riga distribuite su troppe colonne.

Altri suggerimenti
È passato un po 'di tempo da quando ho fatto IIF, ma a meno che non lo abbiano risolto, QuickBooks fallirà comunque su quelle interruzioni di linea. Sembra che queste persone hanno lo stesso problema e lo hanno gestito con spazi.
Personalmente mi sporgerei verso pipe o qualcosa che delinea chiaramente l'interruzione di linea quando si tratta di QuickBooks. Se devi assolutamente avere le interruzioni di riga, unisciti alla Intuit Developer Network e usa l'SDK per inviare questi valori a QB dopo che il programma li ha importati.
Perché non sostituire le interruzioni di riga con spazi anziché tabulazioni?
Mi imbatto in questo genere di cose tutto il tempo. La chiave è gestire casi speciali come questo quando stai analizzando è sostituire il caso speciale con qualcosa che è estremamente improbabile che si verifichi nel testo, e quindi sostituirlo di nuovo quando hai finito.
Ad esempio, ci sono interruzioni di linea nell'output che possono essere prontamente rilevate con un Regex. Usa Regex.Replace per convertirli in qualcosa come LINEBREAK . Rendilo qualcosa che si distingue in un editor per il debug. Quindi esegui il resto dell'analisi normalmente e, come ultimo passaggio, sostituisci il token speciale con il valore originale (o qualcosa di nuovo).
Idee:

Preelabora il tuo file, sostituendo l'interruzione di riga (supponendo che sia un singolo CR o LF) con un carattere alto-ascii. Quindi analizza per tab e infine sostituisci detto high-ascii con l'interruttore di linea in seguito.

Invece di elaborare riga per riga, elabora carattere per carattere. Intendiamoci, funziona ancora solo se le interruzioni di riga incorporate sono in qualche modo diverse dallo standard CRLF alla fine di un record.
