Let’s say the following is our input type with value, “John Smith” −

<input type = 'text' value = 'John Smith' id = 'changeTheName' />

To change, use the attr() method −

$('#changeTheName').attr('value', 'Please enter your name.......');

You need to use the concept of attr(). Following is the code −
