cor de fundo de um item de ListBox (winforms)

Como posso definir a cor de fundo de um item específico em um System.Windows.Forms.ListBox? Eu gostaria de ser capaz de definir os múltiplos, se possível.

Provavelmente a única maneira de conseguir isso é chamar os itens a si mesmo.

Defina a DrawMode para OwnerDrawFixed

e código algo como isto no evento DrawItem:

private void listBox_DrawItem(object sender, DrawItemEventArgs e)

    Graphics g = e.Graphics;

    g.FillRectangle(new SolidBrush(Color.Silver), e.Bounds);

    e.DrawFocusRectangle();

A segunda opção seria usar um ListView, embora eles têm uma outra maneira de implementações (não realmente dados vinculados, mas mais flexível em forma de colunas)

Se o que você quer dizer, definindo várias cores de fundo está definindo uma cor de fundo diferente para cada item, isso não é possível com uma caixa de listagem, mas com um ListView, com algo como:
