Is matplotlib still maintained [closed]

Since the matplotlib maintainer recently past away I have question whether this library is still maintained? I was on its homepage but there is not such information there.

Yes, the library is still being maintained. John Hunter was the library creator, not it's sole maintainer.

The GitHub repository has plenty of recent commits, for example. There are at least 100 contributors too (next to jdh2358, John's GitHub account). The GitHub matlibplot organisation lists 12 members apart from John; these people all help maintain the project.
