OTHER TIPS

A good place to start could be Getting Started (Service Broker)

Also, to add to the list, once you've gone through those articles, try running the downloadable chapter-by-chapter examples in this book:

http://www.amazon.com/Server-Service-Broker-Books-Professionals/dp/1590599993

(can download the sql scripts and example c# projects from the publisher's web site, but 90% of the explanation is in the actual book). The best way to get started is often to build some stuff.
