Telerik RadAsyncUpload 404 loading Telerik.Web.UI.WebResource.axd

Question

This should be a softball for someone :)

I have started a new webforms project(.net 4.0) and I need to add a Telerik RadAsyncUpload but when I try and use the upload control I get these javascript error message

Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found) Uncaught Error while uploading, HTTP Error code is: 404

I believe something is missing in my web.config but I am not sure what here is my web.config

I have also tried to go through this document

and no dice

if I try and access

http://localhost:65026/Telerik.Web.UI.WebResource.axd

I get a 404

Solution

Inside your handlers section I would try change the following:

<add name="Telerik_Web_UI_WebResource_axd" path="Telerik.Web.UI.WebResource.axd" type="Telerik.Web.UI.WebResource" verb="*" preCondition="integratedMode,runtimeVersionv2.0" />

to the suggested entry from Telerik

    <add name="Telerik.Web.UI.WebResource"  
path="Telerik.Web.UI.WebResource.axd" verb="*"   
type="Telerik.Web.UI.WebResource, Telerik.Web.UI, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=121fae78165ba3d4"/>

OTHER TIPS

I also found that I can add this to httphandlers and it will make things work in Visual Studio Development server

I was getting 404.18 querystring denied. I found infosec had setup IIS with some request filtering so I altered it and this worked for me. Posting in case anyone has same issue.
