Question

Can someone share with me the easiest way to convert this to work with wordpress’s 3.0 built in menu support. So far I have the topnav menu working correctly, but I’m having a hard time getting the subnav to show. How would you make this code work with a default install of wordpress? I assumed that after adding <?php wp_nav_menu( array( 'sort_column' => 'menu_order', 'depth' => 0,'menu_class' => 'topnav', 'theme_location' => 'primary-menu' ) ); ?>

and changing subnav to sub-menu in the js and css. That everything would work. What am I doing wrong?

I’m using jquery 1.6.1 This is the original code from a static html page. JS

$(document).ready(function(){

    $("ul.subnav").parent().append("<span></span>"); //Only shows drop down trigger when js is enabled (Adds empty span tag after ul.subnav*)

    $("ul.topnav li span").click(function() { //When trigger is clicked...

        //Following events are applied to the subnav itself (moving subnav up and down)
        $(this).parent().find("ul.subnav").slideDown('fast').show(); //Drop down the subnav on click

        $(this).parent().hover(function() {
        }, function(){
            $(this).parent().find("ul.subnav").slideUp('slow'); //When the mouse hovers out of the subnav, move it back up
        });

        //Following events are applied to the trigger (Hover events for the trigger)
        }).hover(function() {
            $(this).addClass("subhover"); //On hover over, add class "subhover"
        }, function(){  //On Hover Out
            $(this).removeClass("subhover"); //On hover out, remove class "subhover"
    });

});
