Is there a notification or delegate-type method to tell when a UICollectionViewCell object is displayed?

Solution

For iOS 8 and higher you can use willDisplayCell of UICollectionViewDelegate

- (void)collectionView:(UICollectionView *)collectionView willDisplayCell:(UICollectionViewCell *)cell forItemAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath
