Magento V1.9.1 layout issue on product view

Question

i am using the default RWD theme that comes with Magento 1.9.1. I also have the demo products that you can download from magento installed. I am facing a weird problem in the configurable products view page where the switcher options, add to cart and social media link are for some reason loading outside the container div that they should be loading in. It work fine using demo products but not on configurable products i created.

So I've recreated your error and it's not an error but specific way for those products by RWD theme authors.

You can choose where to display that in Design section at you product. Look at image below. You'll find two options there:

1. Product info column -> your right side
2. Block after info column -> your bottom side

So if you want to display them on right you choose first option. If you don't like that setting and want to override it you can do it easily by editing file RWD/default/theme/catalog/product/view.phtml in which you can find code responsible for displaying container2:

Move that code so it'll be around container1 like this:

<?php if ($_product->isSaleable() && $this->hasOptions()):?> <?php echo $this->getChildChildHtml('container1', '', true, true) ?> <?php endif;?> <?php if ($_product->isSaleable() && $this->hasOptions()):?> <?php echo $this->getChildChildHtml('container2', '', true, true) ?> <?php endif;?> This way you'll have in both possibilities the div#product-options-wrapper wrapped in div.product-shop and positioned in same place so whatever option is choosen they will appear there.
