Question

Difference between CDMA and LTE

NetworkMobile DevelopmentTech News

CDMA

CDMA, Code Division Multiple Access is a protocol used for 2G and 3G communication. In CDMA, a channel carries all types of transmission simultaneously without division of bandwidth or time. Data from different stations is transmitted simultaneously using different code modulation.

LTE

LTE is a high-performance interface for cellular mobile communications. It supports high-speed networks and at present, it is the fastest network protocol for smartphones and mobile phones.

The following are some of the important differences between CDMA and LTE.

1ConceptCDMA is a set of protocols used in 2G and 2G mobile communication networks.LTE is a protocol used in 4G broadband technology and has high-speed data access.
2Transmission StandardCDMA uses Spread-Spectrum Multiple Access, SSMA for transmission.LTE uses Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing, OFDM for transmission.
3SIM CardsCDMA does not require a SIM Card(s) for authentication.LTE requires SIM Card(s) for authentication.
4Multi-path SignalCDMA cannot handle the multi-path signal properly.LTE can handle multi-path signals efficiently.
5StandardCDMA is a set of protocols for 2G/3G wireless communication.LTE is now-a-day, a de-facto standard for 4G High-Speed wireless communication.
