Both Internet and Intranet are related with network and if put focus on both the words have only difference of one alphabet.But apart from this light note there are many noticeable differences between both which will be discussed below.

Following are the important differences between Internet and Intranet

1	Definition	The Internet is the global system of interconnected computer networks that use the Internet protocol suite (TCP/IP) to link devices worldwide.	On other hand an Intranet is a private network that is contained within an enterprise. It may consist of many interlinked local area networks and also use leased lines in the wide area network.
2	Users	As mentioned in above point Internet is globally connected network so can have multiple more users as compare to the number of users on Intranet	On other hand Intranet has limited network range so users on Intranet are also limited and less as compare than that on Internet.
3	Security	As Internet is exposed to global network and has wider range as compare to that of Intranet so possibility of cyber attacks,hacker attacks and other security threats is more in case of Internet.	On other hand due to limited network of Intranet there is less possibility of such threats and make Intranet more secure.
4	Type of network	As already mentioned Internet is public network type.	On other hand Intranet is private network type.
5	Information and Data	Due to wider exposure in case of Internet more information and data could be provided or accessed by the User.	On other hand limited exposure of Intranet made limited information and data is accessed by the User.
