Question

Is there an equivalent for Intel Smart Response Technology in Linux?

Basically, it uses a SSD as a secondary HDD cache to increase HDD performance by 3.5x or more.

Was it helpful?

Solution

OCZ just announced this - http://www.engadget.com/2011/09/01/ocz-revodrive-hybrid-merges-100gb-ssd-with-1tb-hdd-for-499/

as far as i know, it doesn't require special software, so works with any OS (there's a mention of Linux in the reviews for their all-solid-state version at http://www.ocztechnology.com/ocz-revodrive-pci-express-ssd.html).
