Magento 2 - Order Id is not continuous in Sales > Orders

Question

My orders ID is not continuos in Sales > Orders.

It's skipping some values in between.

I have gone through Increment id is not continuous in magento2 but it doesn't help me.

Then I tried this Magento Order Number Issue but still no luck.

I read complete theory as explained here https://magento.stackexchange.com/a/37444/84298 but didn't understand it completely why its causing problems in Magento 2.1 because he has explained on the basis of 1.9.

Is this global issue or is it fixed in 2.1 or 2.x?
