You can use any directory structure, but echo.html
expects jquery.js
and echo.js
in the same directory as echo.html
.
That paths can be easily changed in echo.html
, but in the example directory structure is plain, i.e. all the files (echo.html
, jquery.js
and echo.js
) are inside /var/www/json-echo/
directory.
/var/www/json-echo/
echo.html
echo.js
jquery.js
To work with JSON you can use any modern version of jQuery (1.x or 2.x), compressed or uncompressed, for your flavor. After you download jquery-x.xx.x(.min).js
rename it into jquery.js
(or edit echo.html
).
As written on jquery.org/download site there is no specific differences between versions 1.x and 2.x except Internet Explorer support:
jQuery 2.x has the same API as jQuery 1.x, but does not support Internet Explorer 6, 7, or 8.
