Question

I am using CodeIgniter to develop my projects. Now I'm thinking to move from MVC to HMVC (modular architecture). I don't want to use the CodeIgniter HMVC extension as it is not very famous. I want to learn a new Modular MVC framework.

These are my requirements:

  1. Framework has to be commonly used and supported by a large community.
  2. Rich in libraries, widgets, plugins and add-ons.
  3. Easy to troubleshoot (easy to search and find a solution).
  4. Well documented.
  5. Containing essential libraries like CodeIgniter ( email, file upload, validation, image resize, etc...)

When I searched online I found lots of frameworks, but I'm not sure which one will fulfil my requirements. I know there are lots of people already mastered HMVC. Could you please share your experience with us? This would be a great support to all of the HMVC beginners. Thanks a lot!

Was it helpful?

Solution

I spent lot of time searching this matter. Finally found Laravel as my choice. I love this framework very much.

Modules in Laravel framework known as packages. They are reusable libraries. Packages are very easy to install. You don't have to worry about copy pasting files and links anymore.

It was not difficult for me to switch from CI to laravel. Learning is very fast don't worry. As you grow you will learn more deeper concepts.

Most of the PHP developers are moving to Laravel. So this is my choice. I will highly recommend this to anyone.
