iOS 7 - Configuración de antecedentes para la barra de navegación en modo paisajista

Quiero establecer un fondo más grande para mi barra de navegación cuando la pantalla se cambia al modo paisajista. Entonces esto es lo que hice en mi controlador de vista:

Puede ver que la barra de estado se superpone a la barra de navegación, y hay algo de espacio adicional en la parte inferior de la barra de navegación. (En una nota al margen, he editado el archivo info.plist para solucionar el problema de la barra de estado superpuesto. Así que gracias a la respuesta de @eagle.dan.1349, se me ocurrió una idea: extiendo la altura del fondo de la barra de navegación para incluir la altura de la barra de estado, y luego comencé a dibujar la imagen de fondo desde abajo para dejar el espacio Para la barra de estado:

iOS 7 tienen bastante comportamiento indocumentado en términos de controles y apariencia del sistema. Le sugiero que 'renuncie a' luchar contra la barra de estado y ajustar su imagen para que se ajuste bien. Puede intentar simplemente agregar 20px de color negro en la parte superior de la imagen.
