iOS 7 - Configuração de fundo para barra de navegação no modo paisagem

Quero definir um plano de fundo maior para minha barra de navegação quando a tela for alterada para o modo de paisagem. Então foi isso que eu fiz no meu controlador de visão:

Você pode ver a barra de status se sobrepõe à barra de navegação e há algum espaço extra na parte inferior da barra de navegação. (Em uma nota lateral, editei o arquivo info.plist para corrigir o problema da barra de status sobreposta. Isso só acontece quando tento definir uma nova imagem de fundo para a barra de navegação.) O iOS 7 tem bastante comportamento indocumentado em termos de controles e aparência do sistema. Eu sugiro que você 'desista de' lute contra a barra de status e ajuste sua imagem para se encaixar bem sob ela. Você pode tentar adicionar 20 px de cor preta na parte superior da imagem.
