Cómo encaminar la excepción exe de nuevo a la aplicación de VB6?

I Have a aplicaciones de Visual Basic 6, que se llame a la mencoder.exe que forma parte del mplayer para convertir algunos archivos en formato flv. estoy consiguiendo este problema excepción no controlada raro de mencoder siempre que intente convertir este archivo opendivx en uno.
En el momento, estoy claro de si es este codec es el culpable detrás de esto. De cualquier manera tengo intenta modificar la línea de comandos e incluso descargar la última versión disponible para mencoder.
lo que la conversión funciona bien y el único problema es que el mencoder se colgará en el final, ya que el archivo de vídeo de alguna manera supera el 100% a 102%. por lo tanto mi pregunta es ¿cómo puedo ruta esta excepción para ser manejado por mi aplicación VB6 para que no se mostrará la ventana emergente de error feo?
He incluso incluyó la captura de excepción en el código, pero no es la captura de esa excepción.

Solución
Se podría tratar de usar la API SetUnhandledExceptionFilter para detectar la excepción. Lo he utilizado anteriormente, pero sólo con un éxito limitado. Creo que este código sea originalmente venía, fue fuertemente influenciado por, o se inspiró en, un artículo del 99 de mayo de Visual Basic programadores Diario llamado "No hay errores de excepción, mi querido Watson" Dr. Jonathan Lunman.
