¿Por qué el código de error que muestra en validador del W3C "no está permitido aquí los datos de caracteres"

A blockquote no se supone que contiene el texto directamente. Tendrá que ajustar su texto en una sola etiqueta p o una serie de etiquetas p antes de que se va a validar.

No se puede poner el texto dentro de una etiqueta <blockquote>. Usted tiene que envolverlo en otro elemento tal como una etiqueta <p>:

<blockquote>
  <p>My text.</p>
</blockquote>
