Pregunta

We're trying to install the latest version of Plucky to go with our Mongo installation, but running bundle update doesn't update the Plucky gem to the newest version, which is 0.6.3. Our gem version stays at 0.5.2 for some reason.

We ran both bundle update and bundle update plucky.

Gemfile:

gem 'mongo'
gem 'mongo_mapper'
gem 'whois'
gem 'bson_ext'
gem 'bson'
gem 'newrelic_rpm'
gem 'rpm_contrib'

Commands and output:

[root@mongo]# bundle list

Your bundle is updated! Use `bundle show [gemname]` to see where a bundled gem is installed.
[root@mongo]#
¿Fue útil?

Solución

You should install plucky first:

gem install plucky

Then add the following line to you Gemfile:

gem 'plucky', '~> 0.6.3'

Your preference on the '~> 0.6.3' part. You could go with gem 'plucky', '0.6.3'.

Add comment if this doesn't work.

Otros consejos

Plucky is not in your gemfile so it must be a dependency. Almost always gems specify a version for dependency. The gem asking for plucky is probably asking for 0.5.2
