Question

I am complete new to Ruby and Rails both and have decided to install Aptana 3 with RadRails plugin included in order to learn how to learn the IDE while I am studying the rails framework.

I am using:

  1. Ubuntu 12.04
  2. Aptana Studio 3
  3. Rails 3.2.8

and I want to know:

  1. Should I start the RadRails plugin or it is started automatically?
  2. Is there a way to turn some auto complete of rails functions - as the framework offers a lot of written functions and I do know the syntax and what they are doing it will be very helpful for me.
  3. Should I set some additional settings in order to get advantage of all RadRails plugin options?
Était-ce utile?

La solution

It is very sad, but at this time, Aptana Studio has not support and offer a rails plugin for the the newest Ruby on Rails version.

It is a kind a sad too, that NetBeans has dropped the Ruby on Rails support too.

For now, there is no IDE for developing Ruby on Rails applications using the latest versions of the framework.
