Sto provando ad aggiungere Categoria albero per un'estensione personalizzata, l'albero delle categorie che si trova in una delle scheda di pagina di modifica del prodotto

Almeno per Magento 1.9 bisogna essere sicuri che sia caricata ExtJS.
Utilizzare uno dei seguenti metodi per attivare l'uso di ExtJS nel backend:

1. Nel vostro utilizzo del controller in questo modo:

   $this->getLayout()->getBlock('head')->setCanLoadExtJs(true);
   

2. Nel vostro utilizzo di layout xml questo:
