Voglio ottenere i dati da uno dei tag degli articoli. Per arrivare a questo tag, uso il seguente xpath: 

$description = $xml->xpath("//item[@title='0x|Beschrijving']");

Questo in effetti restituisce un array sotto forma di: 

Array
(
    [0] => SimpleXMLElement Object
        (
            [@attributes] => Array
                (
                    [id] => 787900813228567
                    [view] => 12000
                    [title] => 0x|Beschrijving
                    [engtitle] => 0x|Description
                )
        )
)

Ma dove si trovano le informazioni effettive (memorizzate tra i tag degli articoli)? Devo fare qualcosa di sbagliato, ma non riesco a capire quale potrebbe essere ... Probabilmente qualcosa di veramente semplice ... L'aiuto sarebbe apprezzato.

Quando carichi il file XML, dovrai gestire il CDATA .. Questo esempio funziona:

$xml = simplexml_load_file('file.xml', NULL, LIBXML_NOCDATA);
$description = $xml->xpath("//item[@title='0x|Beschrijving']");
var_dump($description);
?>

Altri suggerimenti

Credo che sia equivalente al metodo __toString () sull'oggetto, quindi 

echo $description[0];

Dovrebbe visualizzarlo oppure puoi lanciarlo; 

$str = (string) $description[0];

Dai un'occhiata alla documentazione di PHP.net per " SimpleXMLElement " ( http://uk.php.net/manual/en /function.simplexml-element-children.php ) sembra convertire il nodo in una stringa " (stringa) $ value; " fa il trucco.

In mancanza, ci sono molti esempi in quella pagina che dovrebbero indirizzarti nella giusta direzione!
