Come disegnare una linea su un BitmapSource esistente in WPF?

Vorrei disegnare una linea (o qualsiasi forma geometrica) su un oggetto esistente BitmapSource nella mia applicazione WPF. Qual è il modo migliore per farlo?

Il BitmapSource è il risultato di una chiamata BitmapSource.Create (...).
