Can't use Split View with TextWrangler

Question

I just updated TextWrangler to the latest version (5.5.1 (3944)) but Split View does not work. As I see they promote a new editor - BBEdit, so I guess they don't care about this one? Or is it possible somehow to enable Split View?

The lack of Split View is noted in Bare Bone's Text Wrangler FAQ. It's a limitation in El Capitan and Sierra that affects both Text Wrangler and BBEdit.
