Convert a CFStringRef to a C string?

Hello lovely computer people:

I would like to convert the following CFStringRef into a CString. Any idea how?

recordFilePath = (CFStringRef)[NSTemporaryDirectory() stringByAppendingPathComponent: @"recordedFile.wav"];
