How can I leverage synchronize_structure in pglogical?

Question

I'm setting up very barebones pglogical setup going from 9.6 → 11. I put together one recipe which worked, where I replicated the schema first myself. Now I'm trying to leverage synchronize_structure so that my recipe doesn't need to have the manual schema creation step. My node and subscription commands have succeeded like before, but it isn't replicating over any schema or data. Do I need to nudge it to get things started?
