ReSharper can generate the relevant Equals
, GetHashCode
, etc. or an IEqualityComparer
code for you.
You just, well, need ReSharper.

At this point I've come up with a solution using attributes and a "equality service class" which performs the equality test. But is there a quicker and a more efficient way to implement this?
