JButton precisa alterar o texto do JTextfield

Este é o dever de casa.Iniciando aula Java.Ainda pensando nessas coisas.
O projeto é fazer um Sistema de Gerenciamento de Estoque.
Já descobri tudo, exceto como fazer esse botão alterar o texto em um JTextField.Ele precisa adicionar informações de uma variedade de produtos (neste caso, DVDs).O livro fala sobre diferentes maneiras de gerenciar coisas como fonte, posição e estado de um JTextField, mas não cobre a formatação ou a chamada de um método para o texto.
Aqui está um exemplo do que quero fazer usando um JTextArea.Isto é essencialmente o que quero fazer com meus JTextFields.

Solução
Você adiciona um ouvinte de ação ao botão (para que ele ouça a ação do botão (clique)).Em seguida, programe essa ação para alterar o valor do TextField.

aButton.addActionListener(new ActionListener() {
public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent e) {
aTextField.setText(aNewText);
}
});
Observe que as variáveis acessadas em 'actionPerformed' devem ser finais (exceto os campos).

Outras dicas
Para uma referência cruzada como "Meu botão altera minha caixa de teste", a idéia é dar ao botão (o controlador, o código que será ativado quando clicado) uma referência à caixa de texto. Portanto, quando o botão é pressionado, ele pode alterar a caixa de texto.
São muitas melhorias possíveis, mas essa é a ideia básica.
Acho que não entendo a pergunta.
Você sabe como adicionar várias peças de texto a um único componente.
