CP -R из_dir / * to_dir с python

Есть ли простой способ эмулировать команду cp -r from_dir/* to_dir с Python? shutil.copytree не подходит, потому что to_dir существуют.

Иногда приятно делать все прямо в Python сами; С другой стороны, часто приятнее просто позвонить команду, которую вы знаете, как управлять и знать работы.
