Dove posso trovare informazioni sull'URI "shell:"?

Ho appena realizzato che esiste un shell: URI, ma ogni motore di ricerca sembra pensare conchiglia: E conchiglia sono la stessa cosa.

L'unica cosa che ho scoperto è che puoi scrivere shell:startup direttamente in Explorer (XP e 7 testati) per effetti evidenti.
Questo è già buono perché non c'è %startup%, ma voglio sapere di cos'altro è capace.
